Use Course Rating in Course Handicap
Use Course Rating in Course Handicap is a recommended option that uses the course rating in the course handicap calculation to compensate for differences in course rating from different sets of tees or different golf courses. This feature is new to the Global and World Handicap System™ and eliminates the need to manually compensate for course rating differences when players compete from different tee boxes.
With this option turned on the formula for calculating the course handicap is: Handicap x Slope Rating / 113 + (Course Rating - Par)
With this option turned off the formula is Handicap x Slope Rating / 113
The old USGA Handicap System™ that was in place before 2020 did not use option, making it necessary to manually adjust course handicaps when players completed from different tee boxes.
