Miscellaneous Information
A Handicap Index represents the potential ability of a player on a course of standard difficulty. It must be converted to a course handicap based on the difficulty of the course and set of tees being played based on the slope rating and course rating. The conversion can be done by using the Course Handicap Table posted at many golf courses or by using the Course Handicap Calculator included with this program. The course handicap is calculated differently depending on which handicap calculation method you are using. For more details see the Course Handicap topic.
Most golf courses show the course rating and slope rating on their scorecards. You can use these values or substitute your own if you feel the ones on the scorecard are not appropriate.
