Checkbook for Excel is easy to install. Run the CHKBKXL.EXE download file to start the program installer that will install the program on your computer. (If you downloaded the CHKBKXL.ZIP file instead, just extract all the files and follow the directions here.) The Checkbook for Excel workbook is named CHKXL700.XLSM. (The last two characters of the file name reflect the version number, i.e. 710 is version 7.10. Don't worry if your files end with 7.11 or 7.20, etc. The file names change accordingly with maintenance releases.) Documentation is provided in Windows HTML Help file format - CHKXL7.CHM. A registration form is provided as a Word file - REGISTER.DOC.
To uninstall Checkbook for Excel, use the Uninstall link in the Checkbook for Excel program group or use the Apps applet in Windows Settings.
You can rename the CHKXL700.XLSM file if you desire. However, this will disable the Windows Start Menu Group shortcut and Desktop shortcut that the program installs. Right-click on the desktop shortcut icon and select Properties from the shortcut menu to modify the shortcut properties to point to the new file name. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to fix the broken link on the Windows Start Menu.
