Calculating Handicaps

Golf Tracker for Excel uses a non-World Handicap System (WHS) handicap calculation method for the handicap shown on the Reports that you create. Since Golf Tracker for Excel is designed to track individual shots for every round of golf without the necessary hole score adjustments, it does not lend itself well to tracking WHS Handicaps. Like the WHS method, the Golf Tracker method for calculating handicaps is meant to reflect the player's ability on a good day. It throws out the golfer's worst scores and give additional weight to their better scores. While it will not match a WHS handicap index, it will reflect a player's ability to score on a golf course of average difficulty.
