Golf Tracker for Excel Lite Help

Installation

Golf Tracker for Excel Lite is easy to install. Run the GTXLLite.EXE download file to start the program installer that will install the program on your computer. (If you downloaded the GTXLLite.ZIP file instead, just extract all the files and follow the directions below.) The Golf Tracker for Excel workbook is named GTLite310.XLSM. (The last two characters of the file name reflect the version number, i.e. 310 is version 3.10. Don't worry if your file ends with 3.00 or 3.11, etc. The file names change accordingly with maintenance releases.) Documentation is provided online in the Golf Tracker for Excel Lite Help section of our website. A registration form is provided as a Word file - REGISTER.DOC.

To uninstall Golf Tracker for Excel, use the Uninstall link in the Golf Tracker for Excel program group or use the Apps applet in Windows Settings. If you downloaded the zip file version, there is nothing to uninstall. Simply delete your Golf Tracker for Excel file you no longer wish to use it.

You can rename the GTLite310.XLSM file if you desire. However, this will disable the Windows Start Menu Group shortcut and Desktop shortcut that the program installs. Right-click on the desktop shortcut icon and select Properties from the shortcut menu to modify the shortcut properties to point to the new file name. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to fix the broken link on the Windows Start Menu.

If you are currently using an earlier release of Golf Tracker for Excel Lite - Version 3, you can easily import your data from the old release into the new version. However, you cannot import data from Version 1 or 2 of the program. The greatly enhanced level of dat collection in the new version makes the data from the old version of little value. You can still maintain your old Golf Tracker files, which you can refer to for your historical data. Click on the topic below for more details.

You may receive a security warning when you open Golf Tracker for Excel for the first time and you will need to enable the program content macros for the program to function. See the Enable Content (Macros) topic for more details and additional instructions if you have trouble enabling the macros.
