Global Handicap Method
The Global Handicap Method is a golf handicap calculation method for evaluating golf skills so that golfers of differing abilities can compete on an equitable basis in all parts of the world. While similar to the World Handicap System™, it has distinct differences that improve the fairness of the system.
The Global Method uses the best 8 of your most recent 20 handicap differentials. It then averages the best 8 differentials to determine your handicap. It also has several other components listed below that can help keep the system fair. Click the links for more information on each one.
Use Course Rating in Course Handicap is a feature that incorporates the course rating relative to par into the course handicap calculation.
Playing Conditions Compensation (PCC) is an optional feature that adjusts handicap differentials to compensate for unusually difficult or easy playing conditions. It is turned off by default.
Use Exceptional Score Adjustment (ESA) is a feature that lowers a player's handicap if an exceptionally good score is posted.
Limit Handicap Increases is a feature that limits how quickly and how far a player's handicap can increase.
